Group Bio

The essence of the Trinity Irish Dance Ensemble was born in the early 90’s when founding Artistic Director, Mark Howard, took a group of his senior dancers and the band The Drovers to a CIOFF festival in Schoten, Belgium. Right out of the gate, Howard’s entertaining choreography combined with the impressive traditional Irish dance skills of the dancers led to invitations to festivals around the world and the creation of the Trinity Irish Dance Ensemble.

Trinity Irish Dance Ensemble is the only Irish dance performing arts training program in existence. In perfect balance with competitive solo dancing and team dancing, the Ensemble program develops dancers as performing artists, providing immersive dance education and performance opportunities, all while offering extensive leadership and character-building experiences.

Rooted in traditional Irish dance and music, Trinity Irish Dance Ensemble explores and expands upon Irish culture through the performing arts lens. From high-energy soft shoe dances to percussive hard shoe dances and traditional Irish ceili dances, Trinity Irish Dance Ensemble showcases the wide range of the Irish dance art form.

Since its creation in the early 90s, Trinity Irish Dance Ensemble has been performing in festivals all over the world, showcasing Irish culture through music and dance.

A commanding full ensemble piece that begins from a whisper to a scream.”
“Power and precision do not always need to be loud… sometimes, the quietest sound has the most impact.
